Ar. Shalini Maity graduated from the Sushant School of Art and Architecture, Gurugram, in 1994. After completing her internship at M/S Raj Rewal Associates, she joined the firm full-time. Her two-year tenure there played a pivotal role in shaping her architectural perspective to the profession.
She is the co-founder of M/s Sumit Maity Architects, established in 1999. In addition to her founding role in the firm, she also heads Shalini Maity Associates, a parallel practice under the same umbrella, which focuses primarily on interior design projects.
Sumit Maity Architects gained early recognition by winning their very first National Open Architectural Competition in 1999, for a mega housing project commissioned by the Delhi Development Authority. Within the next few years, the firm went on to win a prestigious two-stage international competition open to SAARC countries, for the Bharat Vandana Prangan project on a 400-acre site in New Delhi.
Beyond her active involvement in the firm’s projects, Ar. Shalini Maity has delivered invited lectures at Springdales School, Laxman Public School. She has also served as an eminent jury member at several notable platforms, including ACETECH exhibitions, I-DAC, etc and also the Annual NASA Convention.
